Hosts or data missing in vCOPS 5.8.0

Hi All,

Thought I would share this issue one of my clients are experiencing and it is a known issue. But thought I would post about it anyway.
If you are missing hosts in the vsphere UI of vCOPS and are running 5.8 then the chances are you are suffering from the bug mentioned in KB2068303

In vCOPS 5.8 unlike previous versions now takes into account hosts in maintenance mode and will exclude them from current capacity etc, which is a great feature. The issue is that when a hosts is placed in maintenance mode vCOPS places the host in its own version of maintenance mode which means alerts or alarms will not be raised etc, but it also wont collect data from it.
When the hosts is removed from maintenance mode in vCenter vCOPS should detect this and take the hosts out of maintenance mode in vCOPS but what is happening here is that part fails so the hosts stay in vCOPS maintenance mode

This had caught my client and myself off guard as no data was being collected during peak processing,

The fix is to either log a support case to VMware and get a hot-fix or to upgrade to the recently released vCOPS 5.8.1.

If you have access to the vCOPS Custom UI available in advanced or enterprise version, you can manually take the hosts out of maintenance mode.

The below image shows that all the collections are greyed out and if you select the host(s) and hit the end maintenance mode up the top it will remove the host from maintenance mode and data will start being collected.
